OUR MISSION through Clover's Helping Fund
$1,000,000 in 2025 for local causes

In June of 2023, we opened our hearts to a very special soul—our dog, Clover. Her journey to us was one of fate, resilience, and the deep love we had to give. But before Clover, there was Oatmeal.

For 15 beautiful years, Oatmeal was Melissa’s constant companion. More than just a pet, he was her best friend, her support system, and the first true family she had when she moved to California. He had been with her through all of life’s ups and downs, and when we lost him, our hearts shattered. At the time, Melissa was eight months pregnant, and the grief of losing Oatmeal weighed heavily on us.

But in that heartbreak, we saw something bigger. We saw the stories of countless other dogs who, like Oatmeal once had, needed a home. We knew we had so much love to give and that our little girl, Daisy, should grow up with the same unconditional love and companionship that Oatmeal had given Melissa.

Then, we found Clover.

Clover had spent the first year of her life in a shelter, locked in a cage, never really knowing what it meant to be a dog. She had never learned how to interact with people, and because of that, no one had come for her. The shelter had run out of space, and on what should have been her last day, a kind foster stepped in, asking which dogs were on the euthanasia list. Clover was one of them.

Originally named “Coke Zero,” she was given a new name—Clover—a symbol of luck, hope, and new beginnings.

When we first met her, she was hesitant. She warmed up to Melissa right away but was shy around David. We understood her fears, but we also knew something else—she had been wonderful with her foster, Sarah, and her young son. That was all we needed to know. This sweet girl, who had spent her entire life in a cage, was meant to be our daughter Daisy’s best friend.

Bringing Clover home was one of the best decisions we ever made. She helped Melissa heal from the loss of Oatmeal and stayed by her side through the final month of pregnancy, offering quiet comfort and companionship when she needed it most. And now, she is an irreplaceable part of our family—a loyal, loving, and gentle soul who brings us joy every day.

Clover’s story, and the kindness of the foster who saved her, made us realize that we had to do more. There are so many dogs, just like Clover, who need a second chance. That’s why we started Clover Fund—a way to give back, to support foster families, and to provide care for animals who just need a little time, love, and luck to find their forever homes.

But the heart of Clover Fund doesn’t stop at animals—it extends to people, too. Because love, kindness, and second chances should be for everyone, furry or not.

We are so grateful to everyone who supports this mission, who donates, fosters, or simply spreads the word. Because of you, more dogs like Clover will get the chance they deserve.

And that, we believe, is the luckiest thing of all.
